The base color of Oscars can range from olive green to dark gray, with variations of red, orange, and yellow. They display unique markings, including black or dark brown spots and patterns on their body and head. The eyes of Oscar fish are large and prominent, with a distinctive orange or red ring around the pupil.

Size: Oscar fish are known for their impressive size. In captivity, they can grow up to 12 to 16 inches (30 to 40 cm) in length, although some individuals have been known to exceed 18 inches (45 cm) in exceptional cases.

Behavior: Oscars are highly intelligent and interactive fish. They are known to recognize their owners and can be trained to respond to commands. Oscars are generally peaceful towards humans but can display territorial behavior and aggression towards tank mates, especially as they mature. They are active swimmers and have a curious nature, often exploring their surroundings and interacting with objects in the aquarium.

The tank should be well-filtered and equipped with a powerful filtration system to handle their waste production.
